Of course I had to try some famous New York style thin crust pizza on my last day in New York.
My brother told me that there are a lot of places in New York touting themselves as Ray’s Pizza, but he said this one is the best.
Per my brother’s girlfriend’s recommendation, I ordered a white slice. Instead of tomato sauce, there is a white sauce with prominent garlic flavor and the slice is topped with mozzarella and ricotta cheeses. The crust was crisp and chewy and my brother insisted that I eat it folded like a true New Yorker. Which I did, and a ton of oil dripped off. This was really good and now that I’m back home, I’ve been trying to find a comparable thin crust pizza, but to no avail so far.
