New Year = New Shoes

I was running in the same shoes for a long time (not recommended), but by the time I conceded that it was time to get new shoes, I started winning age division awards in the races I ran. I didn’t want to change anything that could threaten my winning streak!

But then one day I put on my running shoes and there was a hole. It was a gaping hole along the inside wall of the shoe, big enough for three of my fingers to fit through. There was no way I could run in these, so it was finally time to buy new shoes. Too bad I couldn’t even keep these for mud runs!

So now I have flashy, bright new shoes that are perfect for breaking in the new year! Actually, I had them as I completed the last few weeks of P90X, but now I’m increasing my mileage to get ready for some upcoming races. Good luck to everyone in committing to any new year resolutions!

Daaang, lady – your old shoes were a hot mess! Enjoy the cushiness of the new kicks – I love that fresh out of the box squishiness.

Congratulations on the grad program! Might be tough to get in both Crossfit & running. I know I’m certainly not getting all the runs in that I should.

Tell me about it! I had those shoes for YEARS! It was pretty bad, but on the other hand, I was winning so it was very hard to part with them. Your recent 16 mile run is very inspiring!

Thanks, Darlene! I thought the bright colors might motivate me to run, since my old shoes were so ugly that I was embarrassed to run outside in them!
